To be honest, I'm kind of envious of people who can use their abilities -- who like having their supernatural abilities.

I think that might actually give you a better perspective than some of us, though.

[She tilts her head down thoughtfully.]

To be honest, I spent most of my time monitoring how Satoru was doing; I could tell when he was getting tired. But I could also be a second pair of eyes to help him direct his power when we were ambushed.

Basically... even though we know our powers, there's things we might miss because we're so focused on ourselves. Having someone who can see the bigger picture could be really helpful.

But you're right that I have an outside perspective. And people sometimes become overreliant on it. And with Dazai, using powers just isn't going to work.

I've never had any powers for the last fifteen. Which is basically 'all my life until I got here', and I don't even use it.

I've learned a lot of stuff, though. Mundane stuff.

Right. When I was younger, we got embarrassingly weak at doing things manually because we were so excited to use our powers for everything we could.

It was. We had to set up camping equipment then, and that's a lot harder for a bunch of exhausted little kids.
