[By the time Saki gets a chance to look for Inaba, she's looking... fairly worn out.

What a horrible day.]

Oh... Inaba, there you are. Is now a good time?

I'd like to hear about those past instances, if you could.

[ She glances around and goes-- ]

Okay, but I need to go to the bathroom.

In that case, I'll go with you.

[Completely casual.]

week 1; tuesday post-meeting

[dereban]

[ After the meeting's done, Inaba is going to actually say something: ]

Hey... Saki, can you come with me for a bit? I need a teammate for something real quick.

the bathroom ]

...? Okay.

[At this point needing to hog the bathroom for privacy is hardly surprising, so she'll follow readily enough.]

[ Once they were there, however: ]

I actually told Atsushi this the other day, but I wanted to let you know as well in case you haven't noticed-- as far as we're aware the room Dazai's in is the other blind spot from the cameras. So I earnestly think that he's more likely to be more honest there.

And he's definitely been showing more vulnerabilities. . .

[Oh.

...I see. I'll have to push him even more.

[Because she's been restricting her words, naturally. One does what they must to survive and all.]

Are you planning to tell everyone else as well?

That's why he's definitely telling the truth--

[ She shakes her head. ] No. At least... not right now, anyway. But in any case, I'm worried. Dazai keeps giving me this look--

Like he starts to say something but then he just. He stops himself? And it's weird because it's not even about some remotely serious topic. And he even pushed me out on Saturday, too.

[ She doesn't know what it means. ]

Week 1, Thursday

[At some point, Saki will catch Inaba in the halls.]

Oh... Inaba. I had something I wanted to talk to you about, but I was headed to the bathrooms...

Well, as your fellow teammate, shall I join you?

[allmyfriendsaredead]

If you don't mind.

[And in they go! She'll make sure it's locked before she begins to speak, her voice quiet.]

You were right. He's helping us. He doesn't want us to kill each other.

But he knows that if we do, he'll have to execute us. He seems to want us to think of him as a villain because of that.

[dereban]

. . . He's stupid.

He's a fucking moron. He probably doesn't know anything about the Hotel because, you know, it's not like I haven't seen people get forced to become executioners before!

[ you can hear the dripping sarcasm from her voice she's so tired and is just throwing her hands up in the air ]

He called himself their attack dog.

[It's clear from her tone that she finds this all extremely distasteful.]

I should have noticed it earlier... Even when I first visited him, he said he hoped I wouldn't choose to kill, but I was distracted by the situation.

[Ugh. How could she miss that?]

Plus, the way he spoke during the game yesterday... Just like us, he has to follow the rules whether he wants to or not.

Week 1, Saturday

[She shuts her eyes a little longer than normal by now, a combination of weariness and a headache from the game proceedings, but she's powering through it. She's got people she needs to look for, after all.

It's a while after those games, but eventually, she'll come looking.]

Inaba?

[dereban]

[ She's in the rec room with her cellphone on her hands and she just seems to be staring at it rather blankly, even as she hears Saki's voice. ]

. . . Hey.

[allmyfriendsaredead]

Inaba...

[She'll go over, crouching down to be at the same level.]

How are you? After all of that.

[dereban]

I'm okay.

[ She's not, but she can pretend. ]

You?

[allmyfriendsaredead]

[...

Can she give Inaba a hug?]

Week 2, Wednesday Night

[allmyfriendsaredead]

[Saki looks quietly miserable when she locates Inaba, but she does it anyway - not that there are really that many places to hide out here to begin with.]

Inaba...?

[dereban]

. . . Hey.

[ She sees that expression on her face and it's a little worrying. ]

[allmyfriendsaredead]

How are you feeling after everything?

[dereban]

I'm doing alright. I knew that there were risks when I volunteered.

[allmyfriendsaredead]

That doesn't mean being prepared for the moment when you actually fall.

[Knowing something intellectually is so very different from actually being prepared.]
