That is absolutely a thing that happens here. This place makes a concerted effort to remind us that, to each other and to this world, we are connected by old tales and fiction. Like interwoven dreams. But some within it try very hard to make us feel as if we are not real.

[She grunted, looking almost just... annoyed by it. She'd been seeing hints of that nature for nearly two years now, and it was annoying to have them flung in her face when they happened. Mother Superior's latest attempt hadn't helped.]

Tea... can help sometimes. It does nothing right now. The first month after you die, you are plagued by nightmares of your death. They almost never go away no matter what you try.

It does help calm me a little, but the number of things that come back has gotten worse, especially lately.

That is exactly what I mean. Our worlds are connected by dreams, I believe, but because of the connection their imaginations have bred stories based on our lives. I've... seen what appears to be a video game based on my life.

[she frowned angrily as she said it. Their understanding was similar. In this world, they were fictitious, but Mother Superior had been trying to make them feel as if they weren't actually real, just fabrications of Sodder's dreams]

I've also seen a rather insulting mouse pad. That sort of thing is ... disconcerting at best.

The nightmares? They are not. It's a side effect that happens when we're brought back to life here. For a month, we dream of the night we died. It ... tends to make it hard to stop dreaming of it, if I were honest.

Lucid Dreaming? [Another frown. It wasn't a bad idea.] IF this place is a dream it might be a powerful tool, but I take it you mean in the dreams I'm speaking of? Then no.

You aren't missing out.

[She sighed as she said it, breathing out slowly and focusing on what felt like the more important topic immediately at hand.]

I think... it is less of a punishment and more that it is hard to keep bringing us back. The longer it happens, the more it happens the longer it takes, and things are 'wrong' in the process.

[The thought of lucid dreaming made sense. Like the Great Sleep, only to make it silly...]

You mean, make the dream ridiculous so that it is less terrifying, in essence? I'm not sure how well it would work, but it is a thought.

The logic and magic of a dream world, without question. It is simply a matter of resources where I come from. Expensive, costly, time consuming but doable.

Here, I believe it is because of the dream itself. And you may be on to something there. I know that ... visions have tried to guide us to assume our imagination has real power here.

[She sighed.]

Remembering having my head chopped off night after night is not doing my mood any favors, bluntly put.
