You remember that no one here knows who I am, right? [Well, except for the Fallen Stars. Yuuto is very careful to keep his identity a secret from the civilians. He has no reputation, but-
He ultimately nods in agreement. Then, tapping a finger to his cheek, he begins thinking up places to go;]
We could go to the Winter Kami shrine... It's probably empty at this hour. Or watch a movie together... I could teach you to bake... We could go somewhere quieter outside to watch the snow... [Yuuto recovers to a smile,] I don't care what we do. I only want to be with you.
Honestly, I'd be happy just standing around and talking. You're so easy to talk to and be... honest around, I guess. But I guess I'm kind of frustrating instead, hm~?
Want to go for a walk, then? I'm good at dodging people.
[He hums to indicate that yes, he is purposefully being an asshole. Unfortunately for Inaba, this side of him is still near-exclusive to her. He's not sure 'who' she was friends with before, but 'this' is the Yuuto that she's stuck with now.]
Do you need a coat before we go? Do you still have the scarf I made for you?
[Ah. He withdraws the offer without missing a beat, but he sure does hate himself for trying.]
Right! This way~. We'll stay out of the city and go to the forest instead. The spirits there are probably lonely anyway. [Yuuto checks his pockets for starling,] And it's so quiet... I love the feeling of snow falling. I can't feel it when I'm in a crowded space.
Really? I guess I've never really thought about it... My internal body temperature is pretty cold already.
[But he's not going to start an unprovoked lesson about his biology, because hoh boy. It isn't like Yuuto is eager to share how far from 'human' he is anyway.]
I usually don't get to play in the snow anyway. If I left tracks, then I'd get in big trouble. But that's why I know all of the secret places in the city! [He gestures towards some lightly marked pathways that go into the woods,] This way!
[Yuuto has noticed that Inaba does not like talking about her 'monster' soul and body-- This does not actually rocket science to notice,-- so he raises a brow when she volunteers the term. He's aware that she died this month and hates December, which has also led to the obvious conclusion that she is not okay.
If he can get her talking... Maybe she can detangle her emotions a bit. Or, in his ideal world, let him in to help her.
He keeps on walking and talking, keeping all of this worry to himself.]
Gigai is what they called you, I take it? Is it a scientific term? [He pauses to lift some branches that have bent over the path, made heavy by the snowfall,] If you do get cold, let me know? I don't want for you to freeze like a lizard.
...ah, no - we were specifically referred to as SCP 6350s. Gigai -- those were the physical bodies that we wound up using. Those were from Ichigo's world. Basically, you'd put a person's soul into these artificial bodies and they would basically form what the person looked like. Or what they believe they would look like.
When we were summoned in this world by the SCP 6350 machine, it was only our souls that were plucked from those various worlds; our bodies... they're still back in our original ones. Frozen in time.
[He takes that as a cue to drop the conversation. Yuuto also stops to let her catch up, not wanting to give himself the excuse to not look at her while they walk. He’s polite, after all!]
Sorry, I got thinking about everyone else again… You’re supposed to be my focus.
[Yuuto can’t help but worry about everyone, spirits included! He turns to try to meet her eye again.]
We’re almost there. Careful: The snow might be deeper since no one comes this way.
[He doesn’t get the chance to finish correcting her, instead left to worry about her. Yuuto looks over his shoulder, disappointed and angry with himself, then steps closer.]
I could help you cheat to cross? It’ll be warm once we get there… I guess that I really did pick a place out of the way, huh? Sorry.
[Yuuto shakes his head keeping his hands at his sides. Though he does hold up a finger to indicate she wait and they do end up teleporting further into the forest, he doesn't need to touch her. It still feels like being dropped into a pool of water until they acclimate to the new space. The ground here is shoveled and the snow nearly non-existent. They're between a series of small ponds and an old traditional Japanese tea house, and they still seem to be alone.]
There, see? How's that? You can keep your nullification on if you want.
[ The way that there's movement without her warning even though she has her nullification on almost makes her instinctively feel sick in the pit of her stomach--it's not something that's on purpose, but rather an instinctive gut punch.
Like something became suddenly invasive.
She has to keep herself from making too heavy reactions. Instead she tries to shift her head away from him so he can't see. ]
... Y-Yeah, that's fine.
[ And yet, she can't hide the tremble in her voice. How awful is she to feel this way? ]

... sorry. If we do something, I don't want to be seen by other people.

[ Nobody is getting the wrong picture on her watch!! Not today!!! ]

Yuuto laughs weakly.]
I... guess. That's... [no, he'd rather die!
But he's not sure how to explain that, so he just nods.]
Let's okay, then. Imoutochan.

Just call me Inaba, for fuck's sake-- you're being an asshole on purpose now, aren't you!?

sorry Yuuto, say stupid shit, get a kick. ]
I'll be fine. I do have it, but I left it at home.
no subject
Good! And- Sorry, sorry. It's just that you're the one who called me a siscon, remember?
[Before she can decide to leave, Yuuto offers a hand.] Let's go. I'll show you the places that only the spirits and I know.

[ She doesn't take his hand, however. ]

[He looks away again to hide his expression.]
It sounds so stressful, but… I wonder how something like that would work here. Then the spirits could have bodies. That would be nice for them.
no subject
Someone would definitely have to make them. I don't know how, myself. That was something left for those guys.
[ 'Those guys' is not something spoken entirely kindly. ]
